काही वर्षांपूर्वी, हिमालयाच्या अंतरंगात भटकताना (तशी ही मित्रांसोबत रस्त्याने केलेली मनाली- लेह- द्रास- कारगिल- श्रीनगर ट्रिप) थोडे off route म्हणून बारलाछा ला पास आणि लाचुलनग ला पास मधील अवाढव्य पसरलेल्या सारचु तलाव ला जायचे होते..
प्रवासा दरम्यान जिस्पा व्हॅली मध्ये मुक्काम होता.. ठिकाण सुंदर होते. दुसऱ्या दिवशी सकाळी लवकर उठून फेरफटका मारताना बाजूला एक सुंदर छोटी नदी होती.. सकाळची सुंदर सूर्य किरणांनी आजूबाजूची हिमाच्छादित शिखरे चमकत होती... अत्यंत सुंदर, उल्हासित वातावरण..
नदी असल्यामुळे आजूबाजूला, वेगवेगळ्या आकारांचे, रंगांचे बरेच गोल मटोल, गोटे पसरलेले होते... मनामध्ये आले, याचा उपयोग करून जर काही या निसर्गाच्या सौन्दर्यात शिल्पे, रचना निर्माण केल्या तर.... आणि या अवाढव्य हिमालयाला समर्पित केल्या तर, त्याची प्रति एक प्रकारचा आदर, कृतज्ञता व्यक्त केला तर..

आणि लगेचच काम चालू केले... आजूबाजूचे, जसे समर्पक ठरतील तसे, साधारण संकल्पना मनात ठेवून काम चालू केले.... व बऱ्याच काही रचनांनी आकार घेतला.. यांच्या सानिध्यात मी थोडा वेळच असणार आहे, याची कल्पना होतीच.. यांचे पुढे काय होईल.. काय माहित,

त्या अजून देखील तेथे असतील का, का लय पावल्या असतील, विस्कटल्या असतील, नाहीश्याच झाल्या असतील... त्या ग्रेट हिमालायलाच माहीत

My first large canvas painting effort... The canvas i brought almost 6 months back but could not dare to put the colours.... some kind of fear or inability to deal with such large size..
Somehow, finally I could overcome this challenge in this corona vacation with available resources and took around 30 hours, in 6 days.

I decided to give a try to capture the glory of fabulous Jain temple complex at Palitana (Bhavnagar District in Gujrat) on Shatrunjaya Mountains. This was my solo trip almost 12 years back.
Palitana is the world's only mountain (elevation- 7300 ft., 2250mt.) that has more than 900 temples The Palitana temples and whole mountain are considered the most sacred pilgrimage place (tirtha) by the Jain community, and is the world's largest Temple Complex. A must visit place for explorers..
